Major trouble for Magee, who isn't the expert she's claimed in this comedy of errors abound with fake identities, ex-lovers popping up out of nowhere, and a whole lot of door-slamming in the middle of the night

Review:

Head Over Heels is a cute book. It's got the unabashed female lead (Magee -pronounced Muh-Gee) and the strictly business male lead (Justin). Both are dead set on making sure their business plans don't fail and they know that they need each other for their respective businesses to succeed; Magee has some major advertising mistakes to make up for and Justin needs to lure a big-wig businessman into a Co-op with him.

And that's about the gist of the book. I feel like that description right there portrays about all of the emotion I have towards the plot and characters.

If you're looking for a cute and funny book about two people doing whatever it is that they need to do to succeed - mixed with a little sexual tension - then here's your book.

I however, found it hard to connect with Magee or Justin on any kind of level; be it business or pleasure. To show my point, I can't think of a single word to really describe Justin. He was sort of manipulative - but yet he wasn't because it was all part of the "business contract" him and Magee had together. He was sort of sexy - but I'm only guessing that from his lusty hooded eye and massive package descriptions. He was sort of a playboy - yet he didn't string his ex-girlfriend around and was completely straightforward on expectations from the get-go. I guess I could go with, business oriented? But is that really a description? I mean, if you're passionate about your private business of course you will fight for it.

The same goes with Magee. Except I can kind of use "quirky" - because that's what was used in the book and that's what I feel most comfortable with. But on the same note, I didn't find anything too quirky about her to call her, well, quirky. (Don't you love run-arounds?). She didn't have any strange hobbies, she helped her friends when needed, she liked her neighbors cat, she really enjoyed her family business...and that about describes her. She was a likeable character though. She's independent yet is willing to let people into her life. Sometimes she has a weird way of going about things - making them much more difficult than necessary - but she isn't too over-the-top.

I'm giving Head Over Heels three glasses across the board. I found the plot cute and the characters showed passion for their careers. But the passion for each other was lost on me and I found their emotional changes lacking in depth and reasoning.
