News at The Book Cove: October events

What a crazy month it has been in my (Jessi) life - to say the least! I'm so far behind on posting reviews it's crazy and I feel like I'm never going to be able to catch up (even though 95% of them are already completed and just need to be posted!)

A HUGE thanks goes out to my loyal helpers. For those of you that have been reviewing and turning books over like crazy - you are amazing and I truly appreciate it (as do the authors and publishers!)! I plan to do something for my faithful helpers as soon as I have five seconds to sit down and think about it!

So what's going on at The Book Cove? Good question! I have no idea! Haha, just kidding. I do have some control left over here...little, but some ;-)

First, I'd like to thank K.C. Finn for nominating The Book Cove for the Versatile  Blogger Award! It really makes us at The Book Cove feel good knowing that our readers appreciate what we are blogging about. We love, love, love the communities feedback on our posts, projects, and activities so keep them coming because it motivates us to keep doing what we do!

Secondly, there's an awesome book blogger event taking place in Rochester, Michigan on October 20th (Sunday). It is sponsored by the Great Lakes Book Blogger Alliance (GLBBA) and involves everything bookish! There's a mixer, talks, good food, good drinks, good friends and good times - and it's FREE while tickets are available! So I encourage those book bloggers in the Rochester area to stop on by.

Third, as I opened this post with. I've been extremely busy with work/life. Thus, my reviews that were at one time going out daily are now down to maybe once or twice a week. Also, the number of reviews that I have been accepting are down greatly. I still have a great team of guest reviewers behind me that are really at this point providing the muscle for the site (you guys rock! In case I haven't said that already ;-)) So most of my review requests have been going out to them. Of course I also have the wonderful Felicia co-blogging and keeping the material up-to-date make sure you show her some love and appreciation. (Felicia and my faithful helpers' sites can be found under Friends of The Book Cove).

Fourth, for those of you asking about the October Newsletter - I'm sorry to disappoint but I could not get it together this month. All of my October promotional slots have been moved to November and I have not accepted any November newsletter requests. Again, I apologize, but it's just the way the cookie crumbles...

Fifth, I'm making a promise to have my reviews/interviews/etc. scheduled to post over the course of the next three weeks. So if you've heard from my blubbering my apologies and talking about "getting them out soon" --- a month later --- I WILL have them all out (for those that I've talked to) by the 1st of November. I'm making myself sit down in between my Masters coursework and reserach prep to get these posts ready to go! No excuses!

Sixth, I had the wonderful opportunity to be interviewed by Henry and Mad Days of Me blog! Check out my review process, what I think of self-publishing, and other thoughts that circle my mind as a book blogger!

Lastly, if I've forgotten anything that I said I'd discuss or get back to you on - shoot me an email. My brains been a little fried lately and I can always use friendly reminders.
