Book Cove News: August Updates

It's technically 11:13pm, July 31st as I write this. So even though I'm behind for my weekly update on upcoming events - I'm at least getting this in before the first ;-)

1.) First order of business - The Book Cove has had the wonderful opportunity to have Wayne Hicks of  eBookOnFire provide guest reviews for our site. Now, his company is attempting to take indie and self-publishing authors to a place they've never been before. A place where authors keep a majority of their profit shares and get paid weekly! With his network of manuscript proofers, copy editors, and design specialists, he's able to provide a top-notch publishing service to those authors who wish to have more control over their book-publishing needs and wants. On top of general publishing services, eBookOnFire provides promotional and social networking opportunities. And if that isn't awesome enough - coming soon is an On Demand printing service. That's right - overnight printing and shipping services for bound books. So for those authors looking for a great new experience - head on over and see what it's all about.

2.) Now, onto the blog tours - Fellow blogger of yahgottareadthis has been doing some awesome promotional work for indie authors. On August 13th, the tour makes a stop by The Book Cove and Renee Peterson's "The Best is Yet to Come" will be the spotlight. Here's what you have to look forward to with Renee's new book:

Rafe Chauvin left his home in the blink of an eye twelve years ago, running from a secret he kept buried deep inside. The day after his high school graduation, he joined the Army to escape the pain the secret brought. When Serena Adams told Rafe Chauvin the lie of a lifetime twelve years ago, she thought he would be relieved. She never imagined what consequences that one reckless night would lead to. After years of trying to escape her lies, she returns to her hometown in South Louisiana. Hannah Matthews is a war widow. Her husband, Tom, left her behind with two very young daughters and made his best friend Rafe promise that if anything were to happen to him that he would look after his girls. Bound by honor, Rafe keeps his promise, stepping up and forming a close friendship with Hannah. When Serena is hired to plan the weddings of both Rafe’s brothers, they are brought together for the first time in over a decade. Lies are finally uncovered, leaving a trail of anger and bitterness in their wake. As the paths of these three individuals converge, and they reach a crossroads in their lives, will they move forward and discover that the best is yet to come?

3.) The Book Cove's next tour stop will not be until September as I will have too busy of a schedule to keep up with author spotlights. However, on September 10th, author Sarah Daltry will be our spotlight as her book "Forget Me Not" makes its rounds.

Lily had a crush on her brother's best friend, Derek for years - which led to their steamy night ten months ago in her bedroom. Now, Lily is going off to college and she and Derek are still going strong. However, when school starts, she realizes it's hard to maintain a relationship while also trying to live her own life. She and Derek find themselves falling apart and Lily has no idea where to turn.

Enter Jack. Everything about him is wrong for Lily and she knows it, but she can't stop herself from being attracted to him. When things implode with Derek, it's Jack who is there to pick up the pieces - and show Lily an entirely new set of experiences she didn't know she was missing.

Of course, Jack has his own problems and once Lily gets to know him better, she starts to wonder if she can handle all of Jack. When Derek reappears on the scene, Lily is forced to decide between two guys and herself. Can she find herself without losing the people who matter in the process?

See where it began in the short story, "Her Brother's Best Friend."

4.) Reviews -I haven't had much of a chance to publish reviews this week. But I promise they are coming! I actually have about 4 that will roll out by Sunday evening. It's just a matter of sitting down and running through my final thoughts. Next week I will be MIA for a few days, but I will attempt to have some news and reviews ready to auto-publish during that time.

It's now 11:45 so I've met my July 31st update deadline ;-)

Happy almost Fri-Day!
