Review: Wicked Games by Jill Myles and Jessica Clare

Wicked Games by Jill Myles and Jessica Clare

(Amazon): Abby Lewis never pictured herself on the survival game show, Endurance Island. She's just not the 'survival' type. But when her boss offers her a spot on the show and the opportunity of a lifetime, she packs her bags and heads to the tropics to be a contestant.

Once in the game, it's clear that Abby's in over her head. The game itself is full of competitive, aggressive people, and no one's more aggressive than sexy, delicious - and arrogant - Dean Woodall. Sure he's clever, strong, good at challenges, and has a body that makes her mouth water. He also hates Abby just as much as she hates him. That's fine with her; she'll just ignore the jerk.

But the rules of Endurance Island are working against them. Abby and Dean are teamed up - alone - on the beach. It's either work together, or go home. Stuck with no one else's company but their own, they learn they do make a good team after all.

And that with just a little bit of kindling, the flames of hate can quickly turn to flames of passion. This book features enemies, lovers, enemies who become lovers, and lots and lots of tropical heat...

Review:

This was a great book! I was browsing through Amazon and happened across this treasure for FREE - yes free! I'll admit that I'm skeptical of free books. I've read a lot of really great ones, but I've also read a lot of really bad ones (...which happens at every price range...). I wasn't sure how into the book I'd be since it was game-show based. I try to avoid those only because they're all the same and usually end up really cheezy. But I decided to give this one a go and I'm glad that I did! This one by no means is something totally different, but the characters and game scenes are hilarious and I loved every minute.

The play between Abby and Dean is great. Abby comes onto Endurance Island by pure chance. It wasn't something she signed up for, but her work made her take another persons spot. So when she gets there she is completely out of her realm. While everyone else has trained and has their game faces on, she's just going with it hoping to make it one day at a time. And when she meets Dean, who is all about winning, hilarity ensues. And the thing I liked most about Abby is that just because she didn't intend - or want - to be on this game show didn't mean she acted like a complete whiny B*tch the entire time. She plays the games and tries her damnedest to keep up with even the most competitive contestants.

While Dean is kind of a jerk, you realize that this show is also a competition. So his jerkiness isn't really all that...jerky...(what?? lol). And once you get to know him you realize that he's the guy that's been missing from your lonely life. Seriously, I would gladly be stranded on an island if it involved Dean with only his swim trunks and ripped swimmer body.

If your looking for a fun, romantic, swoon worthy book - Wicked Games is where it's at!
